Wragg’s Preceptor

J. Wragg - This is a late 18th Century treatise by J. Wragg published in London. This copy is the 19th Edition, I’m not sure of the date. Seeing treatises such as this, appearing in 19 or more editions, say a lot about their popularity and importance. I also own a 2nd incomplete copy. This one also has a number of manuscript pages added at the end as well as quick a few blank music staff pages. These are typical instrumental tunes. Note that Wragg includes in this edition “A Pleasing Collection of Scottish & other Airs.” Wragg is writing for the 8-key flute.
