Notes: A very interesting flute by the famous Belgian maker Albert. The Albert company was best known for their work in designing the Albert System Clarinet. There were also a fine maker. I have in my collection a very early metal Boehm flute by Eugene Albert. Albert, Eugene. Brussels - cylindrical Boehm - this B-flat foot would be a later design, I presume.
Especially rare is the B-flat foot and the barrel embouchure. It also has a special key on the foot which plays the low B-flat without needing to close all the other foot keys. One can use this or the left hand B-flat key to play the note. Another old-fashioned feature are the cork joints, also used in my early Albert.
Condition of the flute is pretty good although it needs a full restoration to be playable at all. Original pads
Restoration: the flute is not currently playable.
