6-key flute by Jean Baptiste Tabard, Lyon (1779-1845). Cocuswood with silver keys and rings. The mechanism has many nice, “fancy” details not usually found on flutes of this type. The D# key is of the hinged "à bascule” type. It is in an original case with all the associated accessories. Pitch is A=435 - A=440. A very fine flute with elegant playing characteristics. It probably dates from around 1820. It has excellent cross-fingers and can play all notes nicely using either “baroque” fingerings or keyed fingerings.
