Heidegger Walking Stick flute

Instrument: 5-key flute, maple? has a long F but no short F

Maker: Georg Heidegger, Passau - fl 1840 - c.1848

Pitch

Sounding Length:

Total Length:

Embouchure size:

Restorer: Jon Cornia

Notes: The flute was missing the hand grip which I took from another antique cane I owned - it was also missing the foot which Jon and I invented to fit with the instrument. As is almost always the case with real walking stick flutes the keys are designed to fit as much as possible into the body of the instrument. This makes them more subtle and less disturbing to the overall designed but was also done for practical reasons to reduce getting snagged on clothing.
